My Objective
My objective as a Coach is to provide to my athletes the most complex training programs for special strength and restoration methods plus the correct volume and intensity zones to use and when to implement them throughout a multi-year plan. This is the resolving system commonly know as the Conjugate System.
My Background
Education
Born in Romania
Lived in Spain for 20 years and in 2021, I moved to the United States of America, from where the majority of my education has come from. My greatest mentor, through his books and videos is Louie Simmons, the founder of Westside Barbell and creator of The Conjugate System.

I noticed early on when I began going to the gym
that nobody around me knew anything about proper training or getting strong, much less technique or programing. I knew there had to be a better way.

I began reading several books about periodization and training by Dr. Tudor O. Bompa. It was interesting how effective his system was and how this made Naim Suleymanoglu the greatest Bulgarian lifter of his time. The system though was only for model athletes or someone of perfect proportions for his sport so this did not work for myself or others training at local gyms. I began studying nutrition, anatomy and biology and the effects on the physical and mental performance of athletes and also learned about bodybuilding with Juan Antonio Beitia, a bodybuilder from Spain.

Later on, I found CrossFit and the lectures of Greg Glassman. This caught my attention because he was talking about the science behind his training system. His methods were efficient for hundreds of people and later on thousands of people. I then attended many CrossFit Courses that they were offering at the time and opened three different CrossFit facilities in Spain.

I was still not completely convinced about the system because many athletes were constantly getting injured. This led me to the videos and books of Dr. Kelly Starrett and Dr. Aaron Horschig about mobility and stability work and biomechanics. This was a game changer for me as a strength and conditioning coach and gave me the framework to identify problems and resolve the pain of my athletes.

In one of the CrossFit courses I attended, I learned about the Pose Method of Dr. Romanov. With this running technique, I gained a better understanding about biomechanics and technique as well as how to solve injuries in my athletes and how to prevent them. I also must mention Brian Mackenzie and his book Power Speed Endurance as this was another amazing tool that helped me understand how to observe and apply skills. He also talked about The Conjugate System that I later studied in depth. During this time, I attended a coach prep course with Logan Gelbrich, owner of Deuce Gym in LA, which focused on the skill of coaching, the culture of gym training and how to run a successful and profitable gym.

As I am constantly wanting to further my knowledge and education, I came across Louie Simmons books. I have come a long way in my Coaching career with both experience and knowledge from numerous teachers, coaches and mentors that have taught me about human performance. Without all of these teachers and mentors that I had before finding Louie Simmons along with 13 previous years of experience and experimentation with hundreds of athletes, I would not have been able to understand the Conjugate System that Westside Barbell uses. Louie Simmons opened my eyes on how to learn and apply science to training with a math and physics focus and a basis on Newton’s laws of motion.

The Westside Conjugate System is the best of two advanced training systems: the Soviet system, where several special exercises are used to advance the training of superior lifters and athletes, and the Bulgarian system, where near-max lifts are performed every workout. The Westside system is a combination of the two.
Thanks to him, I was able to study many other sport scientists such as Vladimir M. Zatsiorsky, Yuri Verkhoshansky, Mel Siff, Barry Ross and many others.

Specialization
As Louie Simmons said, "A pyramid mathematically is only as tall as its base."

- Special Physical Preparedness
- Physical Fitness
- General Physical Preparedness
The basis of strength conditioning is to improve strength and conditioning simultaneously. I understand all sports require special strengths development and most importantly, I understand special strengths and their velocities.

Who I Help
From powerlifting , Olympic weightlifting, any ball sport like football, baseball, basketball, soccer, rugby, lacrosse etc., any endurance sport for long distance to track and field, tactical , mma/grappling, strongman, water sports, crossfit to get in a great physical condition or recovering from injuries.
How I Do It
The training that I provide is an optimal training , not minimal and not maximal, more is not better, one must recover properly from workout to workout.
I am responsible to fulfill the athlete's potential no matter what is the sport or task that is training for.
What's in It for You
I understand what comes easy for the athlete and what is challenging . The most challenging must be given periodically in training the event skill. If is a technique problem , a lack of understanding for the competitions demands, or is it a strength defect in a particular muscle, as well as I understand each athlet's mental and emotional state.
